did anyone get the wii on the first day. tell me your stories. heres mine
i didnt stay all night up at best buy but i woke up early. best buy got like 50 copys for the wii. we got there like 4:00 in the mourning. my mom drove me and decided to buy one and sell it on ebay(didnt work ) it was cold and i was playing mario kart ds. i bought it and owed my parents 50 bucks because i got 200 from my birthday. now i got it and i regret it. but now im getting ssbb and i regret nothing

I got mine on launch. My friend Domonic waited with me. We were bored on Saturday so we decided to call the Walmarts around us to see if there was anyone in line. The town that I live in already had people waiting but the one about 15 min away didn't. So we decided to wait at the one 15 min away. We got there about 12:30 pm. The line started outside and it was freezing. We brought fold out chairs, halloween candy, DS's, PSP, and chapstick. We were outside in the chairs underneath the blankets just playing Mario Kart. Then someone came outside and told us the line was getting moved inside to the garden department. It was still kind of cold there. I was first in line and Domonic was 2nd. Also Domonic wasn't going to be able to get a Wii since he didn't have the money. He was just going to wait with me.(Guess that proves he's a true friend) Even though I was first in line, I had the worst spot ever. Every time somone would come into the garden department from outside(which happened a lot) a gust of cold air would blow on me. Around 5 pm or so, there was a good line of people there so I hosted a Mario kart match. We had about 7 players so we just kept racing for an hour or so. Then my DS died so I couldn't play anymore. Then, around 10 pm, Domonic's mom got us some Mcdonalds. I ate my Mcdonalds with my gloves still on. That was not a good idea. I guess I was feeling kind of sick about an hour later. It wasn't the throw up kind of sick, it was the sick where you just feel out of it and just say random things. But that wasn't really a problem. Also when his mom came down she said that she would buy the Wii for him. It would be an early Christmas present. He was really excited. With about 25 minutes to midnight, people in the back of the line started spreading rumors that Walmart was going to have a draw and whoever drew the first 15 numbers or so would get Wiis, while the rest of us would get nothing. Thinking about it now this rumor was obviously not true, but after waiting in line for 11 hours, we were ready to believe anything. I called my mom to come down to Walmart around 11:45 so she could buy the Wii for me. She came down with my sister, who had just come from a school dance. She was wearing this weird 50's outfit and people kept staring. We had to wait until 1 am to finally get our Wiis. They called the first person in line up to the register(me) and I got to pick out what I wanted. There were about 15 Wiis and 10 Controllers/Nunchucks. I got the Wii, 1 Wiimote, 1 Nunchuck, and Twilight Princess. After purchasing the Wii I held it up in the air and let out a big WHOO!!! Everyone else started cheering. Then I said to my mom, "Let's get out of here before someone steals this Wii from me." So we went home, of course my mom had to make atleast 4 stops on the way just to make me wait. I played my Wii until around 4 am. I would have stayed up all night but then I would've been screwed for school on Monday and then just slept when I got home, resulting in less Wii time.
Pretty exciting stuff, don't you think? Also, how did buying one and selling it on Ebay not work? I couldn't have even if I wanted to because each person in line was limited to 1 Wii.

My brother was near a 24hr wal-mart so he waited in line and got lucky with the " we're giving out tickets for the wii" thing they did. They made him wait outside because the PS3 buyers rioted in the store 2 days before the launch.

That's really dumb how people got hurt. At the Best Buy around my house people tazered others to get ahead in line.

I had to fight a grandma for my one.
I waited outside the local shopping center at about 6 in the morning for it to open and then we had to run all the way to the only gaming shop.


That bitch had one of those scooter things.
90% sure she supercharged it.

But eventually I got there and was first in line.
I got the Wii and TP.
I couldn't really afford anything else.


If anyone asks, the pole FELL into the spokes of the electric scooter thing.
