| Well to spark some discussion, i have decided to compose a few simple questions regarding MKWii.
First is: Knowing that the game will support up o twelve players online, do you think Nintendo is trying to really push online gaming?
Second is: Do you believe the online will be successful in that it is user friendly while not restricting functionality?
Third is: Will the "Wii Wheel" become mainstream in the gaming market or just b another piece of plastic? Will you use the apparatus?
Last is: Do you want this game? Why?

| I hope their pushing online gaming. They better have voice chat or that will just suck. I dont really understand the 2nd one. I probably wont use the wii wheel since when i hold it ill want to hold it straight up like im really driving and im too lazy to do that. | |

| The second question was meant to ask if the friend code system and such will retain the "easiness" that nintendo wants for their online system but at the same time will not cut back on functions like voip ranking systems, etc. | |

| I guess they could do that but it would be better to get rid of friend codes altogehter. | |

| Subject: Friend Codes. Sat Sep 29, 2007 8:31 am | |
| The whole one friend code for each game is kind of redundant. If you think about it, if you have a friends Wii code you can just get their friend code. If they just use the Wii code as a base for all wifi compatible games it would leave out having to email your friend to get the code. They think that the friend codes make it safer but they do not think about how they have already allowed communication from Wii to Wii. They could just simplify the whole system by just eliminating the second step of adding Friend codes.
A solution to the issue could be a friend roster that is made up of all your Wii friends that has an email sent when you get a new wifi game that notifies all your friends that you have this game and provides the code for the game. If your friend has the game also there could be an option to reply with their friend code that automatically saves your code. If they refuse to remove friend codes this system would at least remove the hassle of typing a sixteen digit number whenver you want to play some MK.

| They could just keep the friend codes but you can still communicate without one. So in Wifi settings you could choose if you wanted to be able to communicate or not. And after you finish a match you can choose to add somones friend code so you can always find them later. But the most important thing I think, is being able to have voice chat with anyone. Thats what makes the online games really fun. Since they dont want to do that for child safety then they could just make it so you can turn off the communication whenever you want. | |

| They already have the no voice chat feature in the parental controls. It asks "allow user to user communications?" I don't see why they do not even use their online at all. They invest millions in a system to boost sales but they made it so bad that less people will want to play the games with the restrictions they put on them. | |

| Im hoping Mario Kart will be the big leap. I think theyre on the verge of it since Pokemon had voice chat with friends. Maybe they just havent worked out the kinks for the Wii. Ive heard that there are the necessary parts in the Wiimote for it to have a mic in it. | |

| The parts i believe you are referring to are supposedly used for converting analog data into a digital code. For example, a human voice (analog data) can be converted to a text image (digital code).
I see two applications for these features. One is allowing communications but only through text, or use the converted text along with a second delay to bleep out profane language in the speech transfer. I think my description is a little off, so if you are confused it is not you, just my lacking description.

| I think I got it. I had seen rumors about a mic for Wii that would take your words and turn them into words. And if you spoke louder the words would be bigger. It was pretty cool. Too bad its probably not real. | |

| It still could be. Maybe they could still update the site and say they got the voice chat to work. And the internet update said that they havent announced all the internet updates yet. So maybe they will save the voice chat adn never announce it. We'll just find out with the game. | |

| Yeah but don't our friends swear too? What they should do is make a button on the mic/headphones to turn on/off chat anytime you want. | |

| Also they need to make lobbies so people can make their own games and others can join them. So we could customize our own options. And if they do that they still need the random matchup also incase we don't feel like choosing our own match. | |

| Yeah we already knew that. Its not like kids haven't heard swearing before. Like I said just make an option to turn off the sound from other players any time you want. Also its called parental controls. If parents care about their kids playing online games where swearing could be present then they would turn on the parental controls. Its not like Nintendo doesn't warn them. | |

I other words, Nintendo just does not want to get sued or get a bad name with the media. Apparently their marketing team does not believe the potential sales increase out weigh the potential losses of getting sued or having negative media.
