Brawl Online

Does anyone else think that the online for Brawl is going to blow? They really need to get rid of friend codes. So you can communicate by sending messages to your friends. Here's the catch, you can only send preset messages. Does it get any dumber than this? Also they said they won't have a leaderboard either. They say they will add more updates for the online though on thier site. They better fix these issues or a lot of people aren't going to get the game. I still will of course.

Yeah I kinda agree. But, what we can do is have our own leaderboard on this site. Where all the friend codes are, and where the rankings for us are.

I've bought the last two and they didn't have online play.
I'll buy it if it doesn't.

If it does, it is just a bonus.

The friend code system was a complete failure. It is the least user friendly system i have ever used. They should have done more research before making the flawed system.

None the less, i shall purchase Brawl. In fact i reserved it before the online was announced. It would be better if the online was eight or sixteen players instead of just four. Just imagine a mess of 16 people fighting.

At least it is online. perhaps Nintendo will realize that they suck at online and actually use WiiConnect24 and completely overhaul the system.

I don't think it'll suck too much, but I find it sad that it's more striped down than even Strikers, freakin' seriously! NO LEADERBOARDS!???! Nintendo needs to step it up and stop pussing out. Put up disclaimers before games and leave it up to the parents.

I don't think 16 people at once would be fun. I'm glad they kept it to four. It would be so hard to play with 16 people. And if even 1 person has a bad connection, wouldn't that mean lag for the rest of us?

Yea, anything above 4 would be too crowded and a little rediculous.
The maps aren't made for that.

16 is crazy but there should be bigger maps for max 6 players
anyways its official that there having friend codes. you dont need them to play against other players. its just so you can battle your friends especially.

I really hope they announce that they will have a mode for online where you can get random matchups that are ranked. And then have the mode for random matchups unranked.

And they need a matchmaking mode where you can choose the settings you want. Like the map, time, stock, special rules, etc. That type of mode would be unranked though.

well we still got...*looks at calender and starts counting the weekdays*..about 50 updates to go. i dont know if there having an update on the release date probably not. a.k.a. i was to busy working that i missed school so i had to work at home

What does missing school have to do with the updates? And the release date is already out. Its December 3rd I think. Thats been announced for around 2-3 weeks i think.

They might have that. There probably just keeping it a secret.

Does anyone kno if the "tourny" mode is online? I really hope it is.

I dont. Im guessing they will have tournaments like that though online. But you dont win anytihg. Just where people enter and it sets them up.

well i think there will be both...........company's may do the prize tourneys but there will be a ton of smal time tourneys going on.

I doubt the company will do prize tourneys unless they have a way to stop the modders and hackers.

I hope you can set up your own tournies...

Yeah, that could be one of the options for like your own game setup in the lobby thing I was tlaking about before.

I hope they allow lobbies for tournaments not just random selection. You could have a description of the style and arenas your playing on and the person could choose if they want that tourny...
